Introduction
OntoNet is the Ontologic System (OS) component that provides the basic functionalities for the Ontologic Net (ON).

The OntoNet component integrates the ontologic approach, specifically the components:

• OntoFS and
• OntoBot

with the techniques and technologies of the

• Ontologic Request Broker (OntoRB)
  • Object or Object-oriented Request Broker (ORB 1), e.g. Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA),
  • Virtual Object System (VOS),
  • Ontology or Ontology-oriented Request Broker (ORB 2), and
  • Ontologic Request Broker (ORB 3),

as well as

• Internet Research Task Force (IRTF) and its Information-Centric Networking Research Group (ICNRG)
• Xerox, Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), and community with their Project [Content-Centric Networking (]CCN[)]x, and
• National Science Foundation with its Named Data Networking (NDN).
